Focus Features hardly ever delivers a disappointment. Whether it's the stop-motion phenomenon's from Laika or the biblical films that are sleeper hits Focus usually hits the right notes. Like even The World's End came out last week and that was amazing. Unfortunately that does not work this time Closed Circuit is not a bad movie and the acting is certainly there it's just that the script is predictable and full of plot holes as NPR and New York Daily News stated. Closed Circuit definitely has potential it's just it should have been more fleshed out. Overall see this only if you want to. Closed Circuit is rated R.

Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz are known as some of the best comedies ever. Now after nearly half a decade director Edgar Wright is coming back with The World's End. And this is not some quick cash in. The World's End is getting some of the best reviews of a movie this year.
The World's End is a comedic masterpiece. It has universal acclaim on Metacritic and a 90% on RottenTomatoes meaning everybody friggin loved it. The Globe And Mail Toronto praised The World's End for being a breath of fresh air in a month thats overcrowded with sequels,adaptations and cashgrabs this seems like the only movie that isn't that. Even Slant Magazine,Slate, and Tampa Bay Times gave it a 10. The World's End is truly a movie to die for.

From the director of Blue Valentine comes a movie about a dad's decision to save his son by committing a crime. Well heck ya. That sounds way better than HEY IM DA ROCK JOHNSON WE GOTTA SHOOT SOME NINJAS YA. Which is pretty much the other thing that is in theaters.
New York Observer praised it's originality,The Playlist praised it's brilliant script, but the only problem is the end. However the acting is amazing (thank you Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper) and the cinematography is amazing too.

Tina Fey has been one of the most prominent features in the comedy worlds today and after 2010's disappointing Date Night is trying to have a theatrical hit. Admissions plot has never been done before which makes it strictly original but the question begs, can it be a hit?
Admission is about a college admissions grader looking for happiness. It also stars Paul Rudd from 2012's This Is 40. The main critics consensus for Admission is that the performances and chemistry between Paul Rudd and Tina Fey is great but the movie is not well directed or not funny as Chicago Reader said.

Promised Land came out in limited release at the very end of the year just like a bunch of other movies. Usually that's a hit or miss. Sadly no Oscar buzz has come for Promised Land. Here's why.
Promised Land is about a big business versus a small community owned town. It seems interesting but where most critics threw the hatchet is it's final 15 minutes. (ReelViews,New York Post,Time) I do not want to spoil but everything derails from there.
Overall rent this. Unless you really want to see it.

Most people have not heard of LAIKA but have heard of their movies. They were put in fame when Coraline was nominated for an Oscar and now they might get another one. Like Coraline this one is about spooky spirits and about a little child trying to save his town form unwelcome zombies. What the critics like about this movie is that it is animated beautifully,it's funny,it's mature and lastly it is fun to watch. Keep in note that big name critics like The New York Times and Variety gave it great scores. While the plot is a bit basic and is the reason it got negative response from Doddle the movie overall is lot's of fun. Overall you should go see this movie. You will love it and your kids will love it. Para-Norman is rated PG.

The apocalypse is nice in this movie. Well in a way. Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World stars Steve Carell and Kiera Knightley in a movie about two new lovers setting on a quest during the apocalypse. New Orleans Times liked the script in fact most critics did and other critics felt the acting was good too like in The A.V. Club's review. Most of the reviews were positive until they talked about the final act. So the rest of the movie is good until the ending.
Overall see this if you want to and see it if you don't.

Every year a movie comes out of nowhere, gets amazing reviews audience and critics, and probably is going to snag an Oscar. This year it is Moonrise Kingdom. Moonrise Kingdom has a 82 on Metacritic which is an amazing feat considering the amount of pissed critics out there and a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. Well Moonrise Kingdom is a masterpiece. Salon.com exclaimed it was hilarious. The A.V Club gave it a 10\10. Other critics such as Village Voice said it was shot beautifully but pretty much every critic out there praised the films exquisite humor. Overall Moonrise Kingdom is a must see. No matter what there is no excuse you should not see this wonderfully crafted movie.
