Critics Consensus:Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the conclusion to the 13 series of Final Fantasy games!
The last two Final Fantasy 13 games (Can't believe I'm saying this because it sounds so ridiculous numerically) received mixed reviews sure their were positive aspects of both like nice graphics, a cool soundtrack and some sweet gameplay elements but mostly it felt like someone was dragging the series across the Rocky Mountains in a potato sack. And every mile gives Square Enix more money. Anyway let's find out if Final Fantasy 13:Lightning Returns is the coolest conclusion to the series anyone could ask for or if it's a sad way to end just to make more sequels.
Lightning Returns sadly is more of the same. The combat system however was at least praised by Machinima,Playstation Universe, and Gaming Age for being fun and inventive something Final Fantasy games are always good at. However Lightning Returns continues something that Final Fantasy series is griped for. It's story. EGM gave it a 4.5 because of this saying that the ending and all story aspects were convoluted and atrocious. Based off of this it's no surprise the game has a 68 on Metacritic.
Overall only get this game if you want to.
Lightning Returns:Final Fantasy 13 is rated T.

Critics Consensus:The Lego Movie Videogame

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new The Lego Movie based Videogame!
Lego games have always had a certain amount of charm and a pedigree for being good ever since the open-world actually story-based Lego Batman 2. However all hasn't been perfect as now Lego games face their biggest villain yet. (Not Mr.Business) Movie based titles.
However The Lego Movie Videogame isn't all that half bad. Sure it doesn't have an open-world and is really repetitive and monotonous during some parts but the Lego particle effects and cutscenes from the actual movie keep the hype train going and make the film actually somewhat more enjoyable according to Post Arcade and Toronto Sun.
Overall get this game if you want to.
The Lego Movie:Videogame is rated E10+.

Critics Consensus:The Monuments Men

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new World War 2 epic The Monuments Men!
World War 2 films are always the centrifuge of amazing spectacularity in film whether it be the amazing set pieces, heartbreaking scripts, or deep true acting there's always an intense enriching experience. However a new movie out called The Monuments Men puts a new spin on World War 2. A platoon has to save the paintings, artifacts, sculptures and of course monuments from being blown out before the Nazi's come. But this isn't a regular platoon. This is a platoon starring George Clooney,Matt Damon,Kate Blanchett,Bill Murray and much more.
However all those accomplished and superficial actors don't actually go together to make a great film. ReviewsOnTheRun complained about the premise of the film and making the film feel uncomfortable with not only a harsh story (Human lives are more important than art) but being strung together by cliches such as Kate Blanchett being the French femme-fatale. It's clear that The Monuments Men is nothing special and a 33% on RottenTomatoes and a 52 on Metacritic do not lie.
Overall do not see this movie. It is clearly a waste of time.
The Monuments Men is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus: The LEGO Movie

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new LEGO The Movie!
Product related movies aren't really a thing anymore. The last somewhat successful (in commercial terms that is) were The Wizard and Mac and Me. Those movies came out in the retro generation of the 80's and there hasn't been one since. Thankfully Warner Bros is using their ownage of the LEGO license for video games and movies to good use. The in development hell since 2008 The Lego Movie is finally finally out, and its downright amazing.
The Lego Movie is everything a movie like this should have. A inventive imaginative script that looks like it came out of some 7 year old kids mind (in the best way possible), impeccable voice acting from Will Ferrel,Will Arnett,(That's right theres two Wills.),Morgan Freeman and Chris Pratt and spectacular animation that looks far superior to those Lego Stop-Motion animations that popped back on Youtube as early as the test of time. As the Los Angeles Times said The LEGO Movie is fresh no other movie has been in a while and especially for an animated film. This is Pixar like quality ladies and gentlemen.
Overall see this movie.
The Lego Movie is rated PG.

Critics Consensus:Outlast (PS4)

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new PS4 version of Outlast!
Released back in September Outlast was a breakthrough horror title and the Amnesia of it's time. It set a path in stone for developer Red Barrels and was a breakout hit because it was just so goddamn scary. Now it's on Playstation 4 and free for a month thanks to Playstation Plus. Get ready to shit your pants for free but before you do that let's see if Outlast is more than just the scares.
Outlast is one of the most extreme horror games you'll ever play. It's kind of like a first person Cannibal Holocaust (don't look that up trust me; its a really messed up infamous gory slasher sex film) featuring full frontal nudity, gore, all in a creepy color palette. Nevertheless The Escapist praised this feature of the game saying it made it unique with a 9 out of 10. It's obvious that Outlast isn't for the faint of heart. But with the good reviews such as Playstation Lifestyle and Playstation Magazine UK it would be hard not to pass this up.
Overall get this game.
Outlast is rated M. (For good reasons)
