Critics Consensus:South Park:The Stick Of Truth

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new long awaited South Park RPG!
It's obvious to say the road for South Park:The Stick Of Truth has been a pretty bumpy ride. The game was announced back in December 2011 and was supposed to come out sometime during 2012. Then it was delayed and delayed and delayed one more time and then it was ready for release. However that never happened because THQ the publisher of the game was in financial distress. So the rights were sold to Ubisoft and then the game got a release date. And then it was delayed AGAIN because Ubisoft wanted Obsidian to overhaul some of the mechanics to make it be better. Well all of that actually worked as this is the highest rated South Park game of all time and the highest rated TV show based game too.
While the game has framerate and save bugs due to it being on last-gen consoles its easy to say that South Park:The Stick Of Truth is a contender for Game Of The Year. The mechanics are slick, the town is fun to explore and the game contains so many references its even hard for a South Park aficionado to find them all.
And if you dont trust me you could trust GameInformer,IGN, The Globe And Mail or USA Today for praising this game for all those reasons.
Overall get this game.
South Park:The Stick Of Truth is rated M. (obviously)

Critics Consensus:Plants Vs. Zombies:Garden Warfare

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Plants Vs Zombies third person shooter?!
When EA acquired Popcap back in 2011 they also gave them a large sum of money. Instead of making another good simple mobile game they made a third person shooter? It freaked everybody out at E3 and now it's the first big Xbox One game of 2014. Let's see if this wacky idea actually works.
Apparently it does. Plants Vs Zombies:Garden Warfare has been praised as a breath of fresh air, has a 76 on  Metacritic and has gotten two 10's. Rev3Games's Scott Bromely praised the mechanics, weapons, and characters but put only one negative which was that only one class has melee attacks. While this does make it slightly unfair Plants Vs Zombies:Garden Warfare is a good reason to buy Xbox One. And Titanfall too.
Overall get this game.
Plants Vs Zombies:Garden Warfare is rated E10+.

One Of The Worst:Rambo:The Videogame

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Rambo:The Worst Videogame Of 2014.
It's another One Of The Worst ladies and gentlemen where I talk about an atrocious thing that has just come out. And what better way to start the first One Of The Worst in 2014 by talking about a god-awful licensed game. Let's see why
  • The graphics are reminiscent of a Wii game and that's a compliment
  • The game is an onrails shooter which means you can move, you can only shoot
  • It's made by a publisher that only does shovelware
  • The game isn't really based off of any scenes of the movies even though it says it on the back of the box
  • The music is used in the same level over and over again
  • The difficulty spikes up for no reason
  • Character models wouldn't be acceptable 5 years ago
  • The game uses quicktime events instead of actual gameplay
  • The game rips off elements from Gears Of War
And thats why. Keep in mind those pieces of evidence are from critics such as AngryJoeShow,Videogamer.com,Inside Gaming,Nerdcubed and more. Goddamn this is an awful game.
Overall it's obvious not to get this game.
Rambo:The Video Game is rated M.

Critics Consensus:Non-Stop

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is an all new action thriller on a plane with Liam Nesson!
The coolest and probably most ludicrous way to explain Non-Stop and make someone excited for it would be Taken mixed with Devil mixed with Snakes On A Plane. OK. Maybe that didn't work. And Non-Stop didn't work all the way as it has a 58% on RottenTomatoes and a 56 on Metacritic. Let's see why.
According to New York Daily News,The Guardian, and The Globe And Mail Non-Stop barely makes sense most of the time with it's inane script, weak dialogue, and it not being a train wreck only because of the great badass performance from Liam Nesson. Looks like Non-Stop still is a non-stop action thrill ride but had to make some sacrifices that affect the quality in order to get there.
Overall only see this movie if you want to.
Non-Stop is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus:Dead Rising 3:Chaos Rising

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the third piece of Dead Rising 3 DLC Chaos Rising!
It's easy to say that if you have bought a Season Pass for Dead Rising 3 it wasn't really worth it. The last two DLC's have had stupid plots, somewhat bad AI,and the feeling like they were slapped together at the last minute. This isn't what we hoped for as the AMAZING Dead Rising 2 also had AMAZING DLC called Case Zero but this is pretty formulaic. However there is a glimmer of hope. The new one isn't that bad.
It seems like the DLC's are getting better each episode but it's definitely not worth the money for all of them. This one unfortunately has a weak main character and uninteresting side quests but it does have some great actually fun to kill bosses and new unique weapons as stated by Meristation. Sadly that couldn't keep the average score from being a 6 out of 10.
Overall only get this if you want to.
Dead Rising 3:Chaos Rising is rated M.
