Critics Consensus: Safety Not Guaranteed

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular daily critics opinion for the newest video games and movies! Today it is Safety Not Guaranteed a new indie comedy from the producers of Little Miss Sunshine.
Little Miss Sunshine won two Oscars including best picture. Well this film looks to be just like that (same number of theaters, similar crew, same genre.) and that's a good thing. Safety Not Guaranteed is an indie comedy about a mysterious classified ad. Safety Not Guaranteed is jumping into a truck filled with amazing critical acclaim. While Rotten Tomatoes says the movie is a bit too ambitious. Well Safety Not Guaranteed pleased Slate,Los Angeles Times,New York Post, Reel Views,Rolling Stone and Leonard Martin with it's charm, great acting and laughs.
Overall go see Safety Not Guaranteed but since this is only in 6 theaters nationwide you might need to wait till it's on DVD.

Safety Not Guaranteed is rated R.

Critics Consensus: Lollipop Chainsaw

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular daily critics opinion for the newest video games and movies! Today it is Lollipop Chainsaw a new game from the developer Suda51.
The plot of this game is crazy. A cheerleader cutting zombies at a highschool with a chainsaw and a severed head attached to her waist. Well that is crazy. Though Gaming Age, Gaming Limit and Destructoid gave it a 9.0. In fact the only problem with this game critics had was that it's a slight copy of Bayonetta and Splatterhouse, and the game is short. The gameplay is fun and exciting and even if you think the plot is crap you will still have fun slicing zombies heads with a chainsaw.
Overall if you want to get this get it and if you do not rent it. It's that simple.

Lollipop Chainsaw is rated M.

Critics Consensus: Bel Ami

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular daily critics opinion for the newest video games and movies! Today it is Bel Ami a new historical drama (similar to For Greater Glory) about a guy who uses sex and seducing to gain power in where he lives.
You can not talk about this movie without Robert Pattinson. The Twilight superstar Robert Pattinson has now starred in a limited movie again. Well the good thing is he made the movie watchable. Actually that's kind of a bad thing. Village Voice, Empire, Variety, and The Guardian all gave this movie a 4.0 because of mediocre acting, boring scenes, and overstuffed with cliche.
Overall please don't see this. If you are a fan of Robert Pattinson see the Twilight movies again.

Bel Ami is rated R.

My Personal Opinion: Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted

NOTE: This is different than the posts we have on this blog because instead of the critics opinion this is my opinion. This time it is Madagascar 3.
Somewhere, somehow I have seen all the Madagascar movies in theaters. Not like I'm a big fan of them but it happens one way or another. I loved Madagascar hated Madagascar 2 and well Madagascar 3 is if you got the first movie and the second movie and put them in a blender. It's just slightly better than mediocre. The movie is really hilarious within the first act and then I was like why am I not laughing? The ending is OK I guess and the plot is as thin as a toothpick. This feels like a rent for me and I will probably not see Madagascar 4 now.
Overall Madagascar 3 is getting a 5.0 from me.

Critics Consensus: Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular daily critics opinion for the newest video games and movies! Today it is the prequel in the Madagascar franchise Madagascar 3.
In 2005 Dreamworks hit it big with the movie Madagascar. While it was not a critical success,it was for sure a box office success. 7 years later Madagascar 3 is here. The critics consensus is OK-Meh. The New York Times praised the 3-D in the movie and many critics even if they hated or liked the movie said the visuals stood out. The thing Madagascar 3 suffers from is horrible pacing but if a kid was watching it it would not care anyway.
Overall you do not need to see it but if you have a kid ages 5-11 they will have the happiest time of their lives.

Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted is rated PG.
