Critics Consensus: Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular daily critics opinion for the newest video games and movies! Today it is Seeking a Friend For The End Of The World a new romantic comedy set during the apocalypse.
The apocalypse is nice in this movie. Well in a way. Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World stars Steve Carell and Kiera Knightley in a movie about two new lovers setting on a quest during the apocalypse. New Orleans Times liked the script in fact most critics did and other critics felt the acting was good too like in The A.V. Club's review. Most of the reviews were positive until they talked about the final act. So the rest of the movie is good until the ending.
Overall see this if you want to and see it if you don't.

Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World is rated R.

My Personal Opinion: LEGO Batman 2:DC Superheroes.

NOTE: This is different than the posts we have on this blog because instead of the critics opinion this is my opinion. This time it is LEGO Batman 2: DC Superhereos.
I played Batman:Arkham City for a while and I loved it so I wanted a new Batman experience. LEGO Batman 2 suddenly came on my list and I thought I might check it out. Just when I thought the LEGO games were the same experience over and over again I was wrong. LEGO Batman 2 adds an open world that is pretty cool and it also has a big complaint from me voice acting. The funny thing is the villain voice acting sucks and Joker sounds like an optimistic hot-dog vendor but the superhero voice acting was actually pretty good besides the fact that I swear Robin sounds like a 13 year old kid. When I started the game it felt like a 2-D brawler and then it carried on to a similar LEGO experience. Co-op could be better because some of the puzzles are obtuse and solutions come to you at the last minute but overall the gameplay was fine. The plot suffers from just plain boring sequences like "Bruce Wayne gets his Man Of The Year award stolen" not Joker robs the worlds biggest bank. LEGO Batman 2 was kind of fun I guess but I was hoping to be blown away and immersed into the world. Nope I'm just fighting Joker another time for Pete's sake.
LEGO Batman 2: DC Superhereos is getting a 7.0 out of 10 from me.

Critics Consensus: Abraham Lincoln:Vampire Hunter

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular daily critics opinion for the newest video games and movies! Today it is Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
Just from the title this movie sounds cheeseball. Just from the reviews this movie sounds like a dead raccoon. Here's some examples to show you proof. The A.V. Club called it laughable and gave it a 42. The Chicago Tribune gave it a 50 stating a complaint about the cliches. The worst of all The New York Post's Kyle Smith gave it a 0 out of 100 saying that he would rather be gargling nitroglycerine then see this movie again. Ouch that sounds painful.
Overall Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is the fail of the week you could say. Who knows? This might win a Razzie.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is rated R.

Critics Consensus: Magic:The Gathering-Duels Of The Planeswalkers 2013

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular daily critics opinion for the newest video games and movies! Today it is Magic:The Gathering-Duels Of The Planeswalkers 2013 a new game in the Magic: The Gathering series.
The Magic series is one of those series that is a rare genre. Tabletop board game made into a video game. Now if that sounds boring consider that it got a 9.0 from Eurogamer and Joystiq and they called it the series best translation. The other reviews scores were a 85,85, and a 7.0. Now that's impressive. This is the best Magic game in the series and is also good for newcomers. Though if you are a Halo and Assassin's Creed fan who likes fast paced gaming this is not for you.
Overall get this game just don't get it if it seems boring to you.

Magic:The Gathering-Duels Of The Planeswalkers 2013 is rated T.

Critics Consensus: Brave

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular daily critics opinion for the newest video games and movies! Today it is Brave Pixar's newest movie.
There is good and bad news about Brave. The good news is that it''s not the atrocity Cars 2 was but it does not meet up to Pixar's high track record. The Denver Post's review stated it perfectly saying it is like admitting your straight A student got a B.  But hey you don't have to be all negative because most of the reviews were positive it's just that Brave is good but it's not Pixar good. Brave has incredible animation and an astonishing moral but it's not Pixar good. So while Brave will probably be one of the best animated movies of the year, it is not one of the best movies of the year something Pixar is known for.
Overall you'll probably like this movie so go see it. But if you want Toy Story and Up standards look elsewhere.

Brave is rated PG.
