Critics Consensus:Grudge Match

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Sylvester Stallone VS. Robert De Niro comedy Grudge Match!
There's been a lot of rumours about whether there's gonna be a new Rocky movie or not. A lot of fans juts want to put the series to rest and think it will be a really REALLY bad prequel\sequel (whatever the hell it is) Warner Bros just wants to settle this in a different way in the all new Grudge Match which is a Christmas Day comedy. Let's see how it is.
Well Grudge Match is like the weakest fighter ever. It's been swung at with multiple criticisms includings ones from Detroit News,Movie Nation,USA Today and Variety who have said Grudge Match is tedious with a lousy, lazy script, clumsy jokes and a weak effort from all the actors in it. Stay away from this one.
Overall stay far away from Grudge Match. It's not a 12 dollar film much less a 3 dollar one.
Grudge Match is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus:The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Ben Stiller movie and it's not Night Of The Museum this time!
Ben Stiller is a wild card. He's had some great and definitely memorable performances such as Tropico Thunder and Greenberg but he's also had some failures (like all of the Night Of The Museum movies) and Tower Hiest. He now returns for a somewhat serious movie about a man escaping a generic life titled The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty. Let's see if it's worth the ticket price.
It's probably worth about half it were basing this on reviews because The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty currently has a 47% on Rotten Tomatoes. This is probably due to it's wild ambitious offerings and odd writing. While it's not a bad thing it's certainly offputting and it might only make you want to see it if you really want to.
Overall see this movie if you want to.
The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty is rated PG.

One Of The Worst:47 Ronin

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new samurai smasher 47 Ronin!
47 Ronin looks like a somewhat fresh and exciting movie. It's a samurai action flick and features a barrage of newcomer directors and actors. It's a risk on Universal's part and it might pay off. But really theres more to 47 Ronin than meets the eye. The movie's had a troubled development cycle and it's finally out with a 12% on RottenTomatoes. Looks like this is the new Battlefield Earth ladies and gentlemen.
While 47 Ronin may look cool it's really just a bore fest. The film is two hours and it definitely feels like it overstays it's welcome as USA Today and Empire have said. This is partly due to the CGI being used overwhelmingly and it just being a movie with no gas left in the engine. This is a stinker and stay away from it as much as possible.
Overall don't see this.
47 Ronin is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus:The Wolf Of Wall Street

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Martin Scorcese flick, The Wolf Of Wall Street!
You could say one of Jonah Hill's breakout roles was in Moneyball the baseball drama with Brad Pitt which turned out to be amazing and proved that Jonah Hill can do more than just dick around. Now Jonah Hill is back and he's got a couple of companions including Leonardo Dicaprio and the director,Martin Scorcese. Looks like this is gonna be a marvel.
And no doubt about it The Wolf Of Wall Street is. You may have a few critics such as The New York Post and Charlotte Observer shy away from the movie due to it's three hour runtime but trust us (and the critics) for this one because it's definitely worth the time take. It's filled to the brim with great dialogue lines, a fantastic cast, and a great setting. The Wolf Of Wall Street is definitely one of the best movies of this year and in a while. Believe me on this and if you don't it's gotten 10+ perfect scores as evidence.
Overall see this movie.
The Wolf Of Wall Street is rated R.

Critics Consensus:Halo:Spartan Assault

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today the new Halo! Except this time it's a twinstick shooter!
Halo is becoming and has become an annual franchise with Halo Reach,Anniversary,Halo 4, and now Spartan Assault. We don't know if Halo 5 will come out in 2014 but we can always still live the Halo experience with the all new Spartan Assault. But before we do that let's check if it's actually worth your time.
Spartan Assault is not a perfect game in any means and it's certainly got a few problems like the controls, and the short run time as said by Games Master UK. It definitely looks like a game for you and your buddy\sibling and it's actually looks like it's  the best Halo spinoff! (Better than Halo Wars) Buy this one for the holidays.
Overall get this game if you want to.
Halo:Spartan Assault is rated T.

Critics Consensus:Assassins Creed 4:Black Flag-Freedom Cry

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today the new Assassins Creed DLC!
Last time Ubisoft delved deep into the DLC universe of Assassin's Creed it made The Tyranny Of George Washington for Assassins Creed 3. That was a weird one. The episodes were received mostly positive for their cool powers and gameplay but their were a lot of criticisms over the bonkers story and wonky AI. Now Ubisoft is dealing with DLC using an all new character. Let's see how this is.
As stated by Destructoid this is definitely better than the George Washington DLC by having a polished engine and world, a cool story, and interesting characters. Unfortunately it's a little bit dry for it's own good and seems small with little ideas or concepts too improve on. We can only find out till Episode 2 but right now
A)Buy this if you want to
B) Don't if you don't
It's just that simple.
Freedom Cry is rated M.

Critics Consensus:Her

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today the west Spike Jonze film Her!
Spike Jonze isn't one of the biggest names in the film industry and that's sad really. He's made three incredible movies which are incase you are wondering are (Being John Malkovich,Adaptation, and Where The Wild Things Are) All of those movies are cult classics and critically acclaimed and he now returns with the new Her. And it's downright amazing.
Her is about a man (Theodore Twombly) who is depressed and alone  after a long relationship with a lover. He buys a new computer system which comes with an AI that talks to him (Kind of like Siri but even more intelligent and voiced by Scarlett Jo-Hanson) and they develop a relationship. The reason Her is amazing isn't it's rather simplistic story but it's character development, chemistry, and overall heartbreak. (As praised by Wall Street Journal,Slate,Salon, com) Her will make you feel and think something a lot of movies nowaday don't do.
Overall see this movie now.
Her is rated R.

Critics Consensus:Anchorman 2

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today the all new Anchorman 2!! (Starring Will Ferrel of course!)
Anchorman 2 is known as one of the greatest comedic feats not just for Will Ferrel, but Steve Carell,Judd Apatow,Paul Rudd and more. It's been a decade since the last Anchorman and in 2010 when Paramount decided and a said a sequel wouldn't just be right they turned their back and announced Anchorman 2 last year. This is one of the biggest releases of the year and for good reason. The first Anchorman had laughs from every side. However it looks like Anchorman 2 is only 70% laughs from all side. It's got a 61 on Metacritic and a 75% on RottenTomatoes. That's better than the original's 66% but there are some things that Anchorman 2 is missing and improves on. Let's find out what they are.
Anchorman 2 is great fun sometimes but many critics such as Slate,The A.V. Club and Time have said that the film's occasional laugh-free sessions hurt it a little bit. There's still the funny as hell performances and great nostalgia due to the film's 80's feel, it just feels like the film could have had a bit more fluff.
Overall see this movie.
Anchorman 2 is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus:The Walking Dead:Season 2;Episode 1-All That Remains

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today the Walking Dead finally returns!
It's easy to say that The Walking Dead The Game was one of the biggest breakout hits of 2012. It came from Telltale Games which was a developer no one really had respect for after fallouts like Jurassic Park The Game and Back To The Future. They've must have hired some great writers because the new Walking Dead has a 79. Let's find out why.
The Walking Dead is gripping, violent, gruesome, intense and has always railed the stakes by 10 (stated by Game Trailers) It's gotten for 9\10's and as The Escapist and countless other critics such as Cheat Code Central and Joystiq have said Telltale clearly isn't a one-trick pony anymore. Go buy it now. It's definitely worth your time.
Overall get this game.
The Walking Dead:Season 2:Episode 1 is rated M.

Critics Consensus:The Hobbit:Desolation Of Smaug

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Hobbit 2!
The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey was sadly one of the bigger disappointments of 2012 (Hey at least it wasn't Resident Evil 6) partly due to it's lousy 48 fps gimmick and a mostly boring script. Now the new Hobbits out and it's getting way better reviews and that's not partly due to there being dragons.
The Hobbit's certainly not gonna be a great as we would hope to expect but it's definitely a good popcorn muncher. It's fast paced and doesn't feel like a middle part of a trilogy as Christian Science Monitor has said. The Hobbit's getting better and better ladies and gentlemen (at least we hope).
Overall see this movie.
The Hobbit:Desolation Of Smaug is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus:American Hustle

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new crime drama with a very memorable cast, American Hustle!
It's that time of year again and if you don't know what time of year I'm talking about I'm talking about not just the holidays but the holiday movie extravaganza. Last year we had Skyfall,Les Miserables, and Zero Dark Thirty. This year we have already have had Gravity,Captain Phillips and All Is Lost just to name a few. Now there's a new crime drama with the amazing (and hot) Jennifer Lawrence and it's not just exciting for that reason. Let's see what all the buzz around American Hustle is all about.
American Hustle is a masterpiece for many reasons and that's one of the reason's it's a masterpiece. It's gotten 9 perfect scores on Metacritic and just to boast with that is also mesmerizing and structured like a piece of the thriller Goodfellas. American Hustle brings proof that movies are back at it again with a little oomph to use that as proof.
Overall see this movie now. Just buy a ticket. Everyone involved with this movie deserves the money.
American Hustle is rated R.

Critics Consensus: Peggle 2

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Peggle 2!
Peggle was one of the hit Xbox Live Arcade titles for the original Xbox 360 and now it's back again in full swing. In case you didn't know what Peggle is it's a pachinko hybrid. It's also made by Popcap (the creators of Plants Vs. Zombies) That alone should warrant a purchase but let's see if that's the case with Peggle 2.
Peggle has returned and with updated graphical features,no free to play features and upgraded levels it's clear why critics like IGN, Official Xbox Magazine and NowGamer have praised Peggle 2. It won't stand the test of time but it's certainly a good game to add to your collection with a completely justifiable price.
Overall get this game.
Peggle 2 is rated E.

Critics Consensus:Gran Turismo 6

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Gran Turismo!
We have our Forza Motorsport's,Project Gotham Racing's and DriveClubs but most gamers forget the franchise that started it all, Gran Turismo. Well after Gran Turismo 5, Gran Turismo 6 is out after 3 years of development and let's check if it delivers the legacy the series is known for.
Gran Turismo 6 sure damn does well. It's gotten an 80 on Metacritic and has been called breathtaking by Telegraph. It's probably due to the 1200 cars and 30 tracks with each different effect on both. The critics are loving this one, especially Polygon and USGamer who have called it the best final lap the Playstation 3 could offer\have.
Overall pick this one up. That is if you have the cash from all the games that came out this year.
Gran Turismo 6 is rated E.

Critics Consensus:Out Of the Furnace

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the new Christian Bale drama Out of The Furnace!
Out Of The Furnace looks like one of the more aspiring movies of 2013 with an excellent cast, tight drama, and a great set piece to a script. It's a brother to brother drama about the world of underground fighting with Woody Harrelson,Zoe Saldana,Christian Bale,William Dafoe and Casey Affleck to back it all up. So without further ado let's check if Out Of The Furnace breaks into the Oscar category like Muhammad Ali or topples over like a dead Hulk Hogan. (As you can see I don't know jack about fighting)
Out Of The Furnace nearly makes it to submission but unfortunately the great performances and impressive cast are set back by it's direct ambition, borderline unfriendly drama, and the directing falling thin. Looks like this isn't the fighter we expected to be but as Reeling Reviews,Dallas Morning News and Vulture suggested it's definitely worth the ticket.
Overall only see this movie if you want to.
Out Of The Furnace is rated R.

Critics Consensus:Bravely Default

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is a new Square Enix role-playing game that isn't Final Fantasy!
The Nintendo 3DS has had an amazing year with great games like Fire Emblem:Awakening,Luigi's Mansion 2,A Legend Of Zelda: Link Between Worlds, and Pokemon X and Y. Now Square Enix wants to shove a new great 3DS title at the end of the year and it looks like December is actually worth it.
Multiplayer.it called Bravely Defualt a superb game as many other critics have said such as Vandal Online,NintendoWorldReport and SpazioGames too. This is probably due to Bravely Default bringing the JRPG back to it's roots, an amazing combat system and it feels like Final Fantasy without the convoluted plot and all the sequels.
Overall pick this one up ladies and gentlemen. This really shouldn't be an underrated title.
Bravely Default is rated T.

Critics Consensus:Tiny Brains

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new co-op puzzle platformer Tiny Brains!
Tiny Brains was one of the titles Sony deliberately featured during their E3 press conference. It was a puzzle platformer that was heavily hyped and set to be the best 2013 co-op experience of the PS4. Unfortunately it got delayed from the launch and disappeared. But now it's back out of nowhere and let's check if it's any good and what Sony promised!
Tiny Brains is about a bunch of lab rats trying to solve complex puzzles with friends! And we all know how Trine went. It's not a Scott Pilgrim or Castle Crashers by any means as stated by Joystiq but it's still a fun co-op experience that is well worth the money. Only problem is it's a little bit on the short side.
Overall only get Tiny Brains if you want to.
Tiny Brains is rated E10+.

One Of the Worst:NBA Live 14

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new NBA Live comeback NBA Live 14!
EA Sports has announced a new NBA Live countless times and it was cancelled. It's probably due to NBA 2K14 stealing store shelves and being one of the best sports games on the market. EA has football and soccer but they don't have basketball. Turns out they aren't very good at it.
IGN and Game Informer have said that NBA Live's graphics are broken and sometimes blocky and the actual game isn't better either. It's obvious that NBA was just made for competition. The problem is for Electronic Arts, that rarely ever works. NBA Live 14 is an utter mess and don't buy it anywhere. At least it's not Ashens Cricket 2013.
Overall don't get this game.
NBA Live 14 is rated E.

Critics Consensus:Need For Speed Rivals

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the new Need For Speed!
The Need For Speed franchise has always been a bumpy road. Most of the time the game is great and goes exceptionally smooth. That is when it's made by Criterion (Most Wanted,Hot Pursuit) Now it's a new company called Ghost Games. Let's check if they crossed the finish line or gave up on the way.
Probably the most impressive thing about Need For Speed:Rivals is the graphics as many critics such as USGamer,Darkstation and Eurogamer have noted. The graphics look crisp and smooth much like other next-gen games like Killzone:Shadow Fall and Battlefield 4. The racing is not that bad either and the random encounters are implemented very intelligently. The only problem is that this game is pretty much for next-gen consoles as the PC version bugs out and the 360 version is barebones.
Overall get this game (next-gen version though)
Need For Speed Rivals is rated E10+.

Critics Consensus:Homefront

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is a new action thriller starring James Franco and Jason Statham!
James Franco and especially Jason Statham haven't had a big castout lead in a film in a while and Homefront had some potential. It was actually a decent idea for a script where an ex-DEA agent retires in a small town to save his young daughter and finds himself in more trouble than  he asked for. Unfortunately it's a lackluster barebones movie with the only thing saving it from redemption is the cast.
Film.com called Homefront while not nessescarily a horrible film, a one to skip unless you're willing to see. Plenty other critics stated similar opinions to this with ReelViews saying "noone will remember Homefront in a few months". And it's fine that Homefront's crap. The last two amazing movies of this year were Gravity and  Rush and those were actually memorable and enticing. And Homefront isn't.
Overall only see this movie if you want to.
Homefront is rated R.

Critics Consensus:Oldboy

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the new remake of the gory violent foreign cult classic film, Oldboy.
Oldboy is one of those cult classic films like Donnie Darko for example that went on to become great hits but fans hoped Hollywood would never touch again due to either their nature or butchering the film. For some reason Hollywood has decided to remake this movie so lazy Americans don't have to read the subtitles of the original? Even if we don't know why Hollywood decided to create this we still need to find out if it's a good movie so let's go.
It's sad that Oldboy is getting the reception it's getting because it really could have some potential. It's directed by Spike Lee, is acted out with Matt Damon and is written by the guy who wrote I Am Legend which isn't an amazing movie by any means but is still somewhat decent. The movie does have it's moments and stays true to the original in it's sequences as stated by Toulcan Times, but the script has no real improvements from the first film and turns out to be very shallow. (Cited:Time Out New York,New York Times,The Hollywood Reporter)
Oldboy is rated R.

One Of the Worst:Fighter Within

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Ubisoft Kinect fighter Fighter Within!!
Back when motion-control peripherals were the hottest thing with the all new Wii,Kinect and Playstation Move (Anyone remember that?) Usually third-party developers show the new technology with a new fighter. For the Wii it was Red Steel, for the Kinect it was Fighters:Uncaged and for the PSMove it was Fight Night:Lights Out. Well they were all crap and made by Ubisoft. (Except for the PSMove one) Not having good feelings about this one.
Fighter Within is an absolute mess of a game. The motion detection surprisingly works which should be the bright spot but the game is lackluster,AI is iffy, and the single player is a lie (virtually non-existent) This game is nowhere in the region of a price point of 60 dollars much less twenty. Fighter Within will be in the bargain bin in a few years and that's where it deserves. (Cited:GamesRadar,SpazioGames,Destructoid)
Overall do not get this game.
Fighter Within is rated T.

One Of The Worst:X-Rebirth

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new long awaited entry in the X space simulation series, X Rebirth!
Before Deep Silver acquired Dead Island,Metro and Saints Row it was a relatively small publisher with one big hit to claim to it's name. The X series. The X series was a series of space simulation games that were super entertaining. Sadly there hasn't been a new entry in the franchise in a while and it's been two years after X Rebirth has been announced and is finally able for purchase. If it's not worth the wait and it certainly isn't from the title this is looking to be another Ride To Hell.
Apparently discontinuing a series for an indefinite time and then jumping back to it does not seem to go in Deep Silver's favor. Ride To Hell was a unfinished ungodly mess and we wouldn't be suprised if Deep Silver's got more crap to come after this. X Rebirth is broken, buggy, and not fun to play. Compromised with a series of odd design issues and choices as well with a shoddy navigation system.
Overall stay away from this one. (Cited:GameFront,Quarter To Three,PC Games Germany)
X-Rebirth is rated T.

Critics Consensus:Tearaway

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Media Molecule masterpiece Tearaway!
Sadly Medial Molecule's new game (creators of LittleBigPlanet) was pushed to November 22nd. Now it doesn't really seem like a bad release date for a game except for that it comes out when the Xbox One comes out along with three brand new Nintendo titles. I'm really sorry little Tearaway.
Tearaway is a great game. I really don't think I should explain more and I have a feeling it will become an underrated game due to this day. Tearaway has gorgeous visuals, fun to play and just makes you in  a happy feeling whenever you boot it up. Media Molecule's newest game is a masterpiece and do us and Sony a favor and buy it now.
Overall get this game.
Tearaway is rated E.

Critics Consensus:Super Mario 3D World

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Mario!
A lot of gamers might call it Microsoft's week due to the all new Xbox One but it seems like Nintendo might beat them out with their new Mario Party:Island Tour,Super Mario 3D World, and Legend Of Zelda:Link Between Worlds. I am not kidding. This is Nintendo's strongest week in nearly a decade. But without further ado let's get into it.
While not as amazing as the classic Super Mario 64 was this new Super Mario 3D World is a damn good try at it. It's gotten countless perfect scores and been called the greatest next gen game of  this year by Edge. It's colorful, amusing and downright fun as hell. This game alone justifies a WiiU. (Cited:Edge,Giant Bomb,Game Reactor Sweden)
Super Mario 3D World is rated E.

Critics Consensus:The Legend Of Zelda:A Link Between Worlds

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Legend Of Zelda!
While all the recent Zelda games(Phantom Hourglass, Twilight Princess,Skyward Sword) have been amazing and a great experience to spend sixty dollars there has not been one in a while that brings the nostalgia back. Well it looks like Nintendo is listening to our requests as this new Zelda is supposed to stay true to it's SNES roots. Let's see if the magic really does live up.
Some that say Nintendo should create new franchises can be wrong because it seems like they are killing it with their latest entries in Mario,Zelda and Pikmin. The Legend Of Zelda:A Link Between Worlds currently has a 90 on Metacritic meaning universal acclaim. It's been praised from every critic you know such as Gaming Age who called it the best Zelda since Ocarina Of Time not only due to it's nostalgia factor but due to it's new features, great dungeon design and simple but beautiful graphics.
Overall get this game. Yep you are gonna be spending a lot this weekend.
The Legend Of Zelda:A Link Between Worlds is rated E10+.

Critics Consensus Special:The Xbox One

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new all in one Xbox One!
Controller:
The Xbox One controller does not come with as many improvements as the PS4 Dualshock 4 but still comes with new start and select buttons, and all new D-pad and PS3 like triggers. The D-pad on the Xbox 360 was probably the worst thing about the whole console and while that is not the case here, the D-Pad was still called weak by VideoGamerTv. Maybe it's just not Microsoft's thing.
Kinect:
The Xbox One comes with an all new Kinect 2.0 that supposedly has improved and more voice commands and better tracking for movements on motion controlled games. While it's not really very easy to tell because the Kinect-centric title Kinect Sports Rivals does not come out till 2014. The voice commands are pretty solid for the most part that is.
Games:
The Xbox One has one of the strongest launch lineups in recent memory. With exclusives such as Ryse:Son Of Rome,Crimson Dragon,Forza Motorsport 5,Dead Rising 3, and Killer Instinct the Xbox One definitely has the upper hand. The main consensus for these games is
Ryse:Ok-Mediocre Best thing about game:Visuals Worst Thing About Game:Upgrade System
Crimson Dragon: Best Thing: Nostalgic of Panzer Dragoon Worst Thing:Shoddy  Controls
Forza 5: Best Thing: New improved  engine Worst Thing: Load times and crowd graphics
Dead Rising 3: Best Thing: No load times big open world Worst Thing:Story
Killer Instinct: Best Thing: Fluid fighting;stays true to original Worst Thing:Visuals
Cited:VideoGamerTV,IGN,ReviewsOnTheRun,GameInformer
Overall:
Should you get an Xbox One?
No. Because it's sold out everywhere the prices will be even higher than 500 dollars. Our advice wait until January if you can. No launch game is worth the package although the snapping feature is impressive.

Critics Consensus:The Hunger Games:Catching Fire

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the new Hunger Games!
While the first Hunger Games movie was not a disappointment in any particular direction it was not a spectacular film by any means. Now a new director was attached on this one, one who makes Brittney Spears music videos and directed I Am Legend. And it has a higher score than the first one? Let's find what all the hype is about.
It's true that the first Hunger Games was highly overrated as most critics called it a satisfying popcorn muncher but it seems that this one has a little bit more if not a lot depth. Tampa Bay Times gave it a 9\10 and said it was crafted with intelligence. Even The Playlist called it a monumental achievement that was worth the hype. The only bad thing is a pretty crappy cliffhanger at the end as said by Time Out New York but you cant have all of the cake.
Overall see this movie.
The Hunger Games:Catching Fire is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus Special:PS4

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Playstation 4! (The reason this was not covered this weekend is that not all reviews have come in since it was only released in the US)

Hardware:
The Playstation 4 might not be the next gen you were hoping for in your dreams back in 2006 but it's a step in the right direction and a technological overhaul from the last system. The PS4 comes with plenty of apps, a 60 dollar a year online service that gives you three games a month and a controller. Separate play options that enhance the experience are the Playstation Camera which is 60 dollars and allows you to use facial recognition as signing in and Kinect like features for games. The Playstation Camera also comes with a free game "The Playroom" but this game can get boring in less than an hour and is only used to showcase the AR capabilities of this machine. Unfortunately there has been some defective units with a blue light of death however there has only been 4000 reported. (Sources:CNET,CNN,IGN,Polygon)
Games:
The launch titles for the Playstation 4 are Killzone:Shadow Fall,Resogun and Knack. The other launch titles available are Angry Birds Star Wars,Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag,Battlefield 4,Blacklight Retribution,Call Of Duty:Ghosts,FIFA 14, Injustice,Just Dance 2014,Lego Marvel,Madden,NBA 2K14,NBA Live 14,Need For Speed:Rivals and Skylanders. All of these titles are available on Xbox one on launch day too except for Blacklight. The general consensus on Knack,Killzone and Resogun is that they are great games but just appetizers for the wonderful experiences on PS4 soon to come like The Order:1886, Infamous:Second Son and Drive Club.
Overall:
Should you get a Playstation 4? Yes. Should you get it now? No. You should probably get it this Christmas or even January when a bunch of new titles are out.

Critics Consensus:XCOM:Enemy Within

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the new XCOM DLC!
In 2012 one of the best games was a reboot of a franchise that actually stayed and kept the roots of the original. There's now been a new expansion DLC announced and let's see if it's any good.
XCOM:Enemy Within adds tons of new features,a new story and new missions. It works perfectly as praised by critics such as GameInformer,GameFront and InsideGamer. It looks like Firaxis is at it again and it looks like it's better than ever. Trust the critics for this one, if you have enough time before teh next-gen consoles hit you should definitely get this.
Overall get this game.
XCOM:Enemy Within is rated M.

Critics Consensus:Bioshock Infinite:Burial At Sea:Episode One

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the first piece of the long-awaited Bioshock Infinite DLC!!
After the amazing hit that was Bioshock Infinite Irrational Games has struggled to find it's footing. No DLC for the fifteen dollar Season Pass came out until July and during that time it was only a horde mode. Now the long awaited first part of Bioshock Infinite DLC has come out and it's definitely a spectacle. A short one though.
Call critics mean and over-sensitive but Bioshock Infinite:Burial At Sea has not been getting good reviews mainly due to it being two hours or less. Now that's pretty short for a fifteen dollar piece of DLC and while it has gotten positive reception for making a pleasant return to Rapture from critics like Rev3Games and GameInformer, it's a pricey one at best and you will be wanting more.
Overall only get this game if you really want to relive Bioshock again.
Bioshock Infinite:Burial At Sea:Episode One is rated M.

Critics Consensus:All Is Lost

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the new Life Of Pi esque survival film All Is Lost!
For some reason a lot of survival films have come out in the past few years. Now this isn't really a popular subgenre but thanks to movies like Life Of Pi,Captain Philips,Gravity, and Moon it's becoming more and more popular. Let's hope the new All Is Lost does not butcher that.
Somehow it doesn't. Either survival movies are extremely easy to make (which I doubt) or that every survival movie is glazed with great performances, amazing visuals and CGI,and emphasis on the theme of morality itself. Now all this is pretty deep and All is Lost does an amazing job of explaining that. If you don't believe me check out reviews all across the board with perfect scores from Tampa Bay Times,Boston Globe, and Washington Post. All Is Lost is truly a film to be seen.
Overall see this movie now and probably see it instead of Thor.
All is Lost is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus:Thor:The Dark World

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the new Thor!
The past few Marvel movies have been great. Iron Man 3,Captain America, and especially the Avengers. However Thor is the one movie that was just "meh". Well now Thor The Dark World has come out and let's see how it is!
Thor:The Dark World is about the same quality and maybe even less than the first one. The action scenes are breathtaking and beautiful as The Atlantic said. However most critics who gave the movie a bad score said the plot was too convoluted and confusing and not good for the average Marvel new-comer. It's not just Earth being destroyed too, it's all six realms and it makes sense why some critics don't like this movie. Thor -is a disappointment not to a Marvel comic-book fan but for a regular person.
Overall only see this movie if you want to.
Thor:The Dark World is rated R.
