Critics Consensus:Transformers:Age Of Extinction

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the new Transformers movie!! Yay for originality....
As crazy as it sounds Transformers is actually a pretty big franchise and it absolutely kills the box office during the summer. But back in 2011 Dark Of The Moon came out which kind of ended the franchise right then and there. But Hollywood still needs money!!! So Transformers is back with new actors and yes this isn't a joke. DINOSAUR ROBOTS!!
However it doesn't help the experience one bit. Age Of Extinction has a 31 on Metacritic and an 18% on RottenTomatoes which is considerably weak any way you put it.Sure the action, special effects, and explosive moments are there but the movie really has no depth besides that. Entertainment Weekly stated that two more of these films are life threateningly bad and other critics such as Miami Herald complained that it was TOO FRIGGIN LONG. Either way this movie has dumpster quality everything from acting to script so please please don't see this movie.
Transformers:Age Of Extinction is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus:Shovel Knight

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new 8 bit inspired Shovel Knight!!
It's pretty much obvious now that all third party WiiU support has vanished so what is there to look forward to besides first party games? Well theres a couple of indies scattered around such as Blok Drop U,Ittle Dew,Stick It To The Man, and SHOVEL KNIGHT!!!
Shovel Knight?!? It sounds dumb but just watch the video above this text and read all the astonishing reviews. Even IGN said during their Game Scoop that it was a serious contender for Game Of The Year and the reviews certainly make it out to be. It's a true testament to the power of old school gaming and how it should never be forgotten and Cobrainon Games also said that you should buy BOTH versions because this one is essential on the go. Who knew the indie hit of 2014 would be on the WiiU?
Preposterous.
Overall get this game.
Shovel Knight is rated E10+.

Critics Consensus:Valiant Hearts:The Great War

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new artsy Ubisoft game based off of the horrors of war,Valiant Hearts!
Say what you want about Ubisoft and all the controversy surrounding the Watch Dogs hype, lack of female characters, and micro transactions in The Division. Because when these people put their mind to it they can create some amazing beautiful stuff. First we got Rayman Legends. Next was Child Of Light. And now Valiant Hearts.
Valiant Hearts:The Great War is an art piece. Digitally Downloaded praised how it took a new direction of how war is portrayed in games and how it is really never fun and Eurogamer Italy praised how the game also took a spin at human nature. It's also received and 82 on Metacritic and 3 9\10s. This game is an artistic masterpiece to say the least and we should support Ubisoft to make more games like this. So go buy it right now.
Yes I mean now. Steam,XBLA,PSN whatever. Now is the time.
Valiant Hearts:The Great War is rated T.

Critics Consensus:Think Like A Man Too

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the sequel to Think Like A Man!
In the last couple of years we've seen a spike in black comedy films. No not black comedy like dark humor, black comedy like actual black comedians. The most notable one being Kevin Hart for example. Well hes back again in the all new Think Like A Man Too. Let's see how it us shall we?
Not surprisingly Think Like A Man Too has all the worst mistakes in all the worst places. It's got a 22% on RottenTomatoes, an average score of 4.6,a 37 on Metacritic, and has some preferably bad statements from critics. Such as "this movie will detach your corneas" from RichardRoeper "everything about the film smacks up laziness from RogerEbert.com and "straight up obnoxious" from Blu-ray.com.
You got the point. Don't see this one folks.
Think Like A Man Too is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus:Jersey Boys

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new movie based off of some triumphant rock classics,Jersey Boys!!
Everyone knows it and their sick of it. It pretty much plagues America yet idiots with IQs less than hamsters love it. What am I talking about? Modern music. Whether it be bass drops set to the tune of Lil Wayne or songs that for 4 minutes only say the two words Booty Shake a lot of us want music back to the old days. So why don't we set tune to a movie that appreciates and praises that age? We can in the all new Jersey Boys but lets check if it's good first.
Like a beloved singer performing a concert with a voice crack the movie has some problems. Some critics like Movie City News,Movie Talk, and ScreenRant complained about the movie pretty much sung to the tune of the elderly demographic or how every 10 minutes a boring scene pops up like a cameo singer. Jersey Boys is acceptable to say the least. We just know that Warner Bros,Christopher Walken, and Clint Eastwood all could have put in the extra note.
Overall only see this movie if you want to.
Jersey Boys is rated R.

Critics Consensus:How To Survive (WiiU)

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new top down twinstick zombie shooter How To Survive!
There's been a lot of buzz around How To Survive for the WiiU lately mainly because it's gonna be a port of an overlooked zombie survival game that came out back in December and it's gonna be published by 505 Games. Yep, the same guys that made Sniper Elite for the WiiU without any multiplayer,DLC,or co-op. Ya you guys are really trying to support the WiiU here. Anyway let's see what the critics think about:How To Survive!
Unfortunately How To Survive contains little to no improvements of the old 360,PS3,and PC versions. Critics like Digitally Downloaded  complained about the game being nothing more than a little bit of dumb fun and nothing more then that. Nintendo Life also said that the game trying to be in the middle of the chaotic zombie frenzied shooter genre and the open world survival genre doesn't help it that much actually. While it's one of the better versions of the game,How To Survive still falls flat. Better luck next time Evo Software.
Overall only get this game if you want to.
How To Survive is rated M.

Critics Consensus:EA Sports UFC

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new UFC game now being made by EA Sports!!
Say what you want about THQ's management but when they put their mind to it they made some amazing stuff. One of those amazing things at the end of their lifespan was UFC Undisputed 3. Unfortunately it didn't sell well at all (very surprising for a UFC game) and they had to sell the franchise to EA. With another key franchise down the drain THQ was ready to die. And at the same time EA thrived and two years later their whole new UFC game is out. Let's see how it is shall we?
Guess you can't take it from the gods. UFC has a disappointing 72 on Metacritic and a 6\10 from VideoGamer.com. The complaints were mostly about the games awkward control system (especially for a fighting game) and how it takes time to get used to,a lack of plethora of content the old THQ classics used to offer, and some bugs here and there that can shake the experience downwards. However the online is good and there are over 100 fighters so if something like that tickles your fancy jump right in.
Overall only get this if you really want to. Spend some money on UFC:Undisputed 3 instead.
EA Sports UFC is rated T.

Critics Consensus:22 Jump Street

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it's 22 Jump Street baby!!!!
21 Jump Street hit everyone by surprise. It was a reboot of an old 90's TV show that never really did well but took it to a whole new level with a great cast, hilarious and sometimes gross moments, and shaping Chaning Tatum's career for the better. Now they're back. And in college.
While 22 Jump Street doesn't really offer anything new or innovative sequel wise it's still just as funny or funnier as it used too. The new college aspect kicks up the notch to Round 10 and the scenarios are endless with Jonah Hill and Chaning Tatum taking risks and challenges like never before and thankfully critics are loving this one too with 37 positive reviews, a 71 on Metacritic, and 83% and Certified Fresh on RottenTomatoes. OK just go and run and see this one now!
Overall see this movie.
22 Jump Street is rated R.

Critics Consensus:How To Train Your Dragon 2

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the sequel to 2010's How To Train Your Dragon!!
Dreamworks has obviously tried to target a more wider demographic and they are doing it even harder this time. While How To Train Your Dragon was a great family movie the all new How To Train Your Dragon 2 is actually trying to attract the Game Of Thrones viewers and teenagers too. Why you may ask? Hiccup has a slight beard in the top photo, and we ain't lying.
Thankfully this doesn't ruin the movies quality in any way as actually it still remains pretty solid. Yes Dreamworks might be cranking out sequels like a factory in some cases (it doesn't help that Kung Fu Panda 3 is coming out soon) but 31 positive reviews and a Certified Fresh score on RottenTomatoes can't lie. HTTYD2 is chock full of script surprises and interesting characters and surprisingly actually teaches kids good morals this time around as Globe and Mail said. Yep we bet you weren't expecting this one, and neither did we.
Overall see this movie. I don't care if it seems like a shoddy kids movie cause there's definitely something deep in this one.
How To Train Your Dragon 2 is rated PG.

Critics Consensus:Entwined

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new artsy emotional indie game Entwined!
During Sony's press conference at this weeks E3, in which they announced a barrage of new titles they also announced a small little indie game aswell. It's called Entwined and takes two players a fish and a swan on an emotional journey to love even though the universe does not allow them too. Let's see how it is shall we?
Entwined has been getting mixed responses by critics. It's gotten a couple of 9's with critics like Push Square and Hardcore Gamer Magazine for it's emotional depth and engaging content but at the other side of the spectrum it also got a couple of negative reviews from Eurogamer and GameInformer for it's short length and lack of identity. Obviously it's not for everyone but not necessarily the artsy indie diehards either.
Overall get this if you want to.
Entwined is rated E.

Critics Consensus:Worms Battlegrounds

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the new next-gen Worms game!
NOTE:I apologize for not getting these posts out earlier. E3 really got the best of me.
Worms has been a staple franchise since the 90's. It was a simple PC shovelware game that turned into one hell of a popular coop VS franchise largely thanks to Youtube and the Let's Play community. It's hard not to ever really get tired of Worms which explains its appearance on Playstation 4 and Xbox One!
It's just the tired old Worms I guess. Worms Battlegrounds has a 72 on Metacritic and only one score that ranges from a 10 to a 8. Critics like Digitally Downloaded complained about the soporific single player story and GamingTrend says it did little to upgrade any features of the Worms franchise. If you don't really care about that go buy it! It's definitely going to be one hell of a fun ride with friends(and lots of accidental worm deaths in the process)
Overall only buy this if you want to.
Worms Battlegrounds is rated E10+.

Critics Consensus:Edge Of Tommorow

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new sci fi action thriller Edge Of Tomorrow.
Tom Cruise can't catch a break can he? I mean sure he's been in his fair share of terrible films but Edge Of Tomorrow has something special going for it. It has a Groundhog Day like ascetic all with an alien invasion synopsis. Ironically audiences aren't really seeing this movie because it looks too generic while the generic movies tend to be the one that crack big at the box office. Let's see why Edge Of Tomorrow was really robbed of it's #1 box office position.
1. It shows that Tom Cruise hasn't lost his character and is still making amazing movies -Chicago Sun Times
2.The plot is AMAZING-ReviewsOnTheRun
3.It's imaginative in every single damn way-Concrete Playground
OK you get the point. But wait theres more. Here's a couple more quotes to throw at you. "total blast" "endlessly entertaining" "badass and wise" "beats the clock"
Overall you HAVE to see this movie.
Edge Of Tomorrow is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus:The Fault In Our Stars

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new movie based off of the hit John Green novel, The Fault In Our Stars!!
Back in 2011 a little book came out called The Fault In Our Stars. It was written by John Green who had made plenty of teenage romance books before that had lots of charm and wit but sadly never really enough commercial success. And then The Fault In Our Stars happened. It's catch that made it so successful?(If you can call it that) the kids have cancer. Hollywood wouldn't wanna screw up a movie like that right? Right?
Thank the stars yes apparently. Despite having many appearances on horrible cliche networks like MTV critics are saying that this movie has some wonderful pacing,a beautiful soundtrack, and tough emotional moments that are like nothing you have seen in a teenage movie before. Shy away Twilight. This is one film that truly deserves all the acclaim it gets.
Overall see this movie.
The Fault In Our Stars is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus:Ultra Street Fighter IV

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Street Fighter update! (Don't we get one of these like every 6 months?)
Capcom's reupdated Street Fighter for the last time now as next gen consoles are pretty much taking over. So let's see if the new last-gen Street Fighter is something to stick with until we get Street Fighter 5 or a up-rezed version of Street Fighter 4. Yay repetition.
Fortunately critics (10 to be exact) say that this is the best Street Fighter yet. IGN praised it for it's attention to fan's requests and how nearly the game is close to perfection compared the Street Fighter 4 we got years ago. The new characters like Decapre and Poison are pretty cool too as Meristation said it made the roster even better. They got Street Fighter down ladies and gentlemen. Now it's the long road to Street Fighter 5.
Overall get this game.
Ultra Street Fighter IV is rated T.

Critics Consensus:Murdered Soul Suspect

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new murder mystery themed game Murdered:Soul Suspect!!
Murdered:Soul Suspect was announced at a very interesting time. A time where pretty much no new IP was being announced, Square Enix was in financial straits (again) and instead of churning out the 300th Final Fantasy game they banked on this made by the developers of such not so hits like Dark Void and the interesting but mediocre game that was supposed to "save" the Ouya. So it had to be good right?
Right? Not so much. While Murdered:Soul Suspect has had one of the most interesting plots for a video game in years (one in which you have to solve your own murder)  but the game is sadly very linear, short, and glitchy as described by Polygon,Joystiq, and GameInformer. Sure the script and characters are cool and interesting but the other things are really the meat in the pie which is why Murdered:Soul Suspect is disappointing for a game that got so much buzz.
Overall only get this if you want to.
Murdered:Soul Suspect is rated M.

Critics Consensus:A Million Ways To Die In The West

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Seth Macfarlane's all new movie A Million Ways To Die In The West!
Back in 2012 we thought Seth Mcfarlane's movie career was going to flush down the drain pretty quickly as a lot of people hate Family Guy and Ted, his movie about a profanity filled teddy bear come to life was deemed before release as just that. And it came out and we laughed all of our asses off. All of us. So what has Mcfarlane been up to now?
Sadly it's not making good movies thats for sure. A Million Ways To Die In The West has a 33% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 44 on Metacritic. It's been criticized for being way too long, having all the good jokes in the trailer, and the great lengthy cast not really meaning anything at the end. Oh well Mcfarlane. Better luck next time. (Cited:Aisle Seat,The Playlist,Wall Street Journal)
Overall only see this movie if you really want to.
A Million Ways To Die In The West is rated R.

Critics Consensus:Maleficent

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new surprisingly villain themed Disney movie, Maleficent!
Disney's done a lot of experimental things in the past couple of years to shy away from the family friendly theme they've carried for so long. However those movies such as John Carter or Lone Ranger failed to gain any critical or commercial success but what if it was Disney themed this time around? Lets find out in the all new Maleficent.
Unfortunately Maleficent isn't the amazing epic we expected it to be. However it's not that bad as we expected it to be thanks to Angelina Jolies amazing performance with critics such as Salon.com,NPR, and Blackfilm.com praising it and the amazing special effects this movie stays in the cool zone of a little bit better than mediocore. Oh well Disney. You have so much money it doesn't matter how many times you fail apparently.
Overall see this movie if you want to.
Maleficent is rated PG.
