One of the surprise announcements from Gamescom 2013 was Ubisoft's beautiful Child Of Light. Unlike the other game they announced Fighter Within, Child Of Light was looked on with great praise and hype even before it came out due to the team working on it (Ubisoft Montreal AKA the guys who made a bunch of great Ubisoft games such as Assassin's Creed,Splinter Cell,and Watch Dogs) Let's see if the talent and the hype is really brimming in the right places.

Apparently Child Of Light is a miniature indie masterpiece. Dacotah Reviews praised it for it's welcoming to newcomers gameplay as it is not a turn based RPG or a real time one, (which sounds confusing if you ask me) IGN for the visual display and breathtaking artwork,and The Digital Fix for it's great lengthy amounts of content. Unfortunately the game has somewhat of an annoying plot as everything is a tongue twister and rhymes, but you kind of have to expect that when you're playing a game crafted like a fairy tale. And getting acclaim like one too.

Critics Consensus:The Quiet Ones

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is an all new horror movie that's got nothing different from other ones. Ugh another boring movie weekend.

A lot of recent PG-13 rated horror movies in the past few years have been total crap.  Remember House At The End Of The Street? Or The Apparition? Or The Possession? See what I mean? So the all new Quiet Ones is hitting theaters. Not this again.

The Quiet Ones is plagued with familiar elements tried in other movies, crappy effortless acting, nothing new, innovative or even remotely scary, and having a bad script. All these elements need to be good to make an essential horror movie and it's clear that The Quiet Ones was only made for a paycheck in peoples pockets. 39% on Rotten Tomatoes don't lie.

Overall do not see this movie.

Critics Consensus:The Other Woman

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is an all new romantic comedy with Kate Upton and Cameron Diaz! Hang on a sec. How could this possibly be good.

Kate Upton hasn't really been in a movie besides for some Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Compilation or some crap like that and it's obvious that a lot of people are only going to see this just for a snippet of Kate Uptons boobs in a bra or some crap like that. So when a movie is probably going to sell for that reason it probably doesn't have substance. And that's exactly what The Other Woman is.

Unsurprisingly, The Other Woman is going to be a boring, unpleasant film to watch for people that are looking for a good thoughtful film. In fact the only thing that saves this film is Leslie Mann as the Philadelphia Inquirer said. But if you don't care and wanna see a movie just like any other rom-com  with a bunch of your lady friends or whatever you probably will have have a good time.

Overall only see this movie if you want to.

Critics Consensus:Brick Mansions

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Paul Walkers' final completed film, Brick Mansions!!

Brick Mansions is getting a lot of hype for three reasons all for their actors. RZA is a musician and has never really had a big part in a movie before,David Belle is a celebrity known for his parkour skills,and Paul Walker is known for it being his last completed film after his death in the car crash. But does the hype equal quality? Let's find out.

Unfortunately Brick Mansions has been called dumb,noisy,clunky,and plotless by numerous critics such as Boston Globe,Movie Nation, and The Wrap. It's also been called pretty underwhelming considering the great cast and it being Paul Walker's last film however if you just turn your brain off you'll probably have a good time. Well maybe an average one.

Overall only see this if you want to.

Critics Consensus:NES Remix 2

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the sequel to Nes Remix!!

Even though Nes Remix was kind of shyed down by critics, it has become a hit amongst WiiU owners. Leaderboards are crowded and the game has amassed an impressive fanbase. It may be the best selling Eshop game of all time! So is Nes Remix a one trick pony? Lets find out!!

Apparently it does. It has a Metacritic score about ten points higher than the original and has been praised for it's assortment of new games,new direction,and overall creative features. Some of the games are weak but most critics like Destructoid and Game Revolution have praised that the strongest ones propel the sequel to new heights. Now that's impressive!

Critics Consensus:Demon Gaze

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is an all new JRPG from the guys who brought you Disgea!

Nis America a small publisher mostly known for crafting obscure Playstation JRPG's has big plans for this year. Three of their titles have already come out (counting Demon Gaze.) One of them was received positively from critics and users alike (Danganropa) and the other one (Witch and the Hundred Knight) got pretty mixed reviews. Anyway NIS is back and let's see if their newest title is something to grab or something to miss. (Badumtsh)

Apparently it is. Despite showing underage girls with big breasts like it's some hentai or something, Demon Gaze is actually worthwhile. It's gotten a 77 on Metacritic with 9 positive reviews with critics praising it's addictive gameplay and new mechanics and features never featured before in an RPG before. However it is insanely difficult as numerous publications such as The Escapist said so get ready for a challenge.

Critics Consensus:Transcendence

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Transcendence in which humans go against machines!

While Transcendence's plot may sound generic as a vat of boring it actually has some discernible talent attached to it like Christopher Nolan,Johnny Depp,Morgan Freeman and Rebecca Hall. However all of that is destroyed as the film has a 20% on RottenTomatoes and a 44 on Metacritic. Let's see why this is such a colossal disappointment.

Apparently it's because Transcendence has a lazy script,boring acting, and a otherwise bland lack in direction. It's got some amazing visual effects but even that can't save this sucker of a movie. Too bad for the 100+ million dollar budget of this movie because something like this is probably gonna hurt it. Another hit in Johnny Depp's wallet.

Overall do not see this movie.

One Of The Worst:A Haunted House 2

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the sequel to A Haunted House!
No wonder it's One Of The Worst Time.

So A Haunted House 2 has a 13 on Metacritic right now which means it might be the lowest rated movie of the year. Considering it's already April that's pretty weak. But then again everything in this movie is weak. For example:

• It has gay jokes
• It has animal cruelty jokes
• Washington Post said it exceeded expectations even though they still gave it a 0
• Vulture called it a nervous breakdown of a movie 
• 7M Pictures said it was worse than White Chicks which is known as one of the worst movies 
• Filled with sex scenes and sex jokes

Ya so it's obvious that you shouldn't see this movie

Critics Consensus:Trials Fusion

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the next Trials game!

In 2009 an aspiring indie studio released an XBLA version of one of their flash games. The game ended up being one of the best selling XBLA and downloadable games to date so what other way to release a sequel? That sequel ended up being Trials Evolution which was praised for it's fantastic level editor which could let you make (im not joking) first person shooters and platformers in a motorcycle game. This time Trials is back and it's set in the future. Let's see if it seems like they are running out of ideas here.

Apparently RedLynx isn't. Yes Trials Fusion tries to assemble a plot unlike the other games and do to it's poor results of that it was one of the reasons AusGamers gave it a 5\10. However nearly all of the reviews have been positive praising its graphics,challenges,new improvements, and humour something that is rarely present in games these days.

Overall get this game.

Critics Consensus: 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new World Cup game released on last gen consoles for some reason...

The World Cup only happens every 4 years and same with the Olympics. However the games haven't been so good. London 2012 got mixed reviews,Sochi 2014 got average, and the only really good one was actually the World Cup game. However this time it's not being released on next gen consoles so EA could take a big hit in framerate,graphics,textures and more. Let's see and find out if this game scored a goal or not.

While it's not as victorious as it could have been World Cup Brazil is a pretty good game for soccer diehards as VideoGamer,GameInformer,and Multiplayer.it stated. It may have some problems being too familiar and having no real big difference in content from FIFA 14 that seems like it was released just yesterday but overall the quick passes,new improvements, and better accessibility will probably lengthen and profit your experience into an enjoyment.

Overall get this game if you want to.

Critics Consensus:Oculus

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new horror movie Oculus!

It seems like every horror movie nowadays is using the tagline from the creators of Paranormal Activity in their poster. Maybe it's true but it seems like there is hundreds of "creators" of Paranormal Activity by now. But on with that the all new Oculus is in theaters by more "creators" Let's check if it's good or just plain not scary.

Luckily Oculus isn't half bad. It's got a 61 on Metacritic, and average score of 6.5 and a 71% on RottenTomatoes so it's not a bad way to spend 12 bucks. Trust us you can do much worse. Sure it could be a little bit more scarier in places and as the Newark Star Ledger said it's too vague and familiar but the best part about Oculus is that it messes with your head. That's what horror movies should do.

Critics Consensus:Draft Day

There's been a lot of football dramas in the last couple years and pretty much all of them happen inside the field. However the all new Draft Day starring Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner sometimes not all of the victories happen on the field. Let's see if that's some generic tagline for a generic movie or a actual good movie overall.

Unfortunately Draft Day isn't like Moneyball where it is a good movie even if you don't like the certain sport its about. It's pretty much only for diehard football fans as Movie Guide and Globe and Mail said. Sure it has some good parts with great acting but overall it's dull script holds it back. Looks like this movie never scored a touchdown. Only a running pass

Critics Consensus:LEGO:The Hobbit

The LEGO games have always suffered their fair share of problems. While LEGO Marvel Superheroes pales in comparison to LEGO Batman and LEGO Star Wars they still have their fair share of glitches,repetitivity, and sometimes a weak story. But will that all change with The Hobbit? Lets find out!!

LEGO The Hobbit has a 75 on Metacritic. So while it's not one of the LEGO games you should go out and buy this instant it has plenty of interesting features to keep you invested. Like side quests, puzzles, and locations! And since it's a LEGO game there's always gonna be a lot of awesome hidden easter eggs aswell. However the story seems disjointed as said by IGN and VideoGamer gave it a 6 for it's easy difficulty.

Critics Consensus:Strike Suit Zero

Let's be honest here. Flight sim is another dead genre. Better add that too the pile with text adventure,SHMUPS and interactive movies. Well Ready Born Games a new aspiring indie publisher is attempting to revive it in its own hands in the all new Strike Suit Zero!

Unfortunately it may not be what you asked for. Strike Suit Zero has a 64 on Metacritic and is pretty much just dumb fun as said by Official Xbox Magazine UK. It lacks enough variety to be acceptable and is pretty difficult. However the graphics are difficult and the multiplayer is pretty fun! Even though sides are split we say from the reviews that

Critics Consensus:The Elder Scrolls Online

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Elder Scrolls Online!

Skyrim came out in 2011 and was a pop culture hit. Even though it took place in a fantasy setting and was somewhat geekish it sold COD numbers,got amazing reviews and even some GOTY's and is now one of the top 20 best selling games of all time. Now that's impressive. So what better way to make a new installment in the Elder Scrolls franchise by making it online? Wait what?

Apparently this formula actually works. It has a 83 on Metacritic and while not all the reviews have come out yet, it's sold well enough that it's probably because it's good and your friends have it also. It's not exactly like Skyrim as Hooked Gamers said but it's got a fresh setting and new characters and items to keep you interested for a while and maybe make the $100+ dollar price tag worth it. (Calculated over a subscription based fees)

Critics Consensus:Under The Skin

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new horror film with Scarlett Johanson? This could go either two ways.

Scarlett Johanson is now an alien? Preying hitchhikers in Scotland? And doing what to them? Even if the person who wrote this script is probably on acid,meth, and LSD combined lets find out why this is getting such good reviews.

It's got a 76 on Metacritic and an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes. It's been praised for it's beautiful direction,hypnotic setting, and creepy and chilling acting. However it is probably going to mess with your brain as it is somewhat traumatizing. So apparently a movie with naked Scarlett Johansson is traumatizing. Thats not what I expected.

Critics Consensus:Captain America:The Winter Soldier

Marvel has been releasing movies and TV Shows left and right lately to tie the knot in between separate franchises like Iron Man,Thor,Captain America and the upcoming Avengers movie. However all has not been great. Thor 2 got mixed reviews and Iron Man 3 disappointed some fans with it's crappy plot twist and ending. Will the Cap be able to do it again? Lets find out!

Wow! The Winter Soldier has a 70 on Metacritic and a nearly 90% on RottenTomatoes. It's been praised for making the Captain America franchise modern and fresh,gripping and great action and charming characters. Marvels got it back everyone! Well at least according to 35 out of 42 critics thats for sure. Not a bad ratio if you ask me.

Critics Consensus:Mercenary Kings

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new nostalgic shootemup Mercenary Kings!

Scott Pilgrim:The Game has been hailed as a masterpiece pretty much. It's a great game to a great movie and it's super nostalgic, fun and everything in between as well. However the developers have been pretty much stuck in the ruts not producing a game for 4+ years. Now they did a Kickstarter and their new game is coming out for PS4. Let's see how it is!

Just like Scott Pilgrim The Game, Mercenary Kings is a great addition to the PS4 collection and now that it's free if you have PSPlus you should be really happy. Its got a 80 on Metacritic and nearly all of the reviews are positive. If that doesn't float your boat it's been praised as the modern Contra by GameInformer and IGN Italia. Now that is boss.

Critics Consensus:Goat Simulator

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new perfectly appropriate game for April Fools day,Goat Simulator!

A alpha footage of a crazy stupid game was uploaded to Reddit one day. People demanded it to be a real game. The game got new features such as giraffes and tongues and soon the game was available for pre-order. And then the game finally came out. On April Fools. I swear this isn't a joke. Thus is the story of Goat Simulator.

Goat Simulator has a 67 on Metacritic and that's really not surprising because noone was really expecting it to be a Ocarina Of Time or Half Life 2 here. It's got a super short sandbox,glitches up the wazoo and no polish. So in reality it's a pretty piss poor game. However it's Goat Simulator and Goat Simulator is probably one of the most spontaneously funny games ever. GOAT!
