Critics Consensus: Battleship

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Battleship which is the movie that proves Hollywood is running out of ideas by making a movie about a board game.

 Battleship proves that the week of May 18 2012 was not a good week for movies. First we suffered The Dictator, then this mess called Battleship comes along. Battleship is basically what the commercials say. 2 hrs and 10 minutes of explosions, destruction,shouts, aliens, and ships. Battleship has impressive special effects though. That does not make out for the lack of any character personality, a lousy plot, and the writing is horrible.
Overall if you loved the Transformers movies, this is the same piece of crap. Go see it then. If you kinda want to see it, there are much better ways to spend your time this week.

Critics Consensus: Diablo III

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Diablo III the biggest release of the month and one of the year. Since this is a giant release we are going to have a giant post.

Graphics:
Diablo wasn't really known for it's graphics and same here. The graphics in Diablo are those of a regular game though some of the opening cutscenes look very good and realistic. Diablo is known for gameplay not graphics and that's where we go next.
Gameplay:
Diablo III has multiplayer and single player. So there's an impressive amount of content. The gameplay itself is fun and addicting but the game is very short. You are probably going to be playing online and that is the impressive feat of the game.
Other: (Sound,Plot,etc.)
Diablo III does not have an impressive story and the story is kinda linear. The sound sounds professional though.
Overall if you want to get Diablo III get it but it is not the giant improvement that the series could've gotten. So if you aren't looking for a giant improvement you should get this.
  

Critics Consensus: The Dictator

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is The Dictator the new movie which is the spiritual successor to Bruno.

The Dictator is in the list of standout mockumentaries starting with Borat. Well that made bucket-loads of money. What about a sequel? Already Done. Spiritual Successor here we come. The average score for The Dictator is a 6.0. So that's OK. The Dictator is offensive, funny, so offensive it's funny and that really is all there is too it. You're not going to get an amazing experience here. The whole thing is basically half baked.

Overall if you want to see The Dictator really badly you can and you will probably like it though if you kinda want to see it, not seeing it would save you time and money.

Critics Consensus: Max Payne 3

Note: Diablo III consensus post will be delayed because no reviews have came in yet. Sorry of the short notice. Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Max Payne 3 the sequel to the 2001 PC game made by no other than Rockstar.

Max Payne is back. Though this time he's a bit older then before but still ready to take a fight. The million dollar question is does Max Payne still stand up to critics? Well hell yes. Max Payne 3 currently has a 87 on Metacritic and the lowest score was a 7.0. Max Payne 3 has a great control system,a great aiming system,the multiplayer is fun,a great plot, and it's just good to see old Max again.
Overall if you are a fan of shooters or the Rockstar company buy this, actually you have probably even bought it now. Well wasn't that money well spent?

Critics Consensus: Girl In Progress

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Girl In Progress a new teen dramadey.

Every week a movie comes out based on something. Usually it's a book. Sometimes its a TV show. And barely ever it's a video game. Well the old book is coming around. Based off a book Girl In Progress is about a teenagers trip to adulthood. I thought this would be better then Dark Shadows. Then I see the 30% it got on Rotten Tomatoes. Ouch. Why did it get this? Well Girl In Progress is boring,has unfunny jokes,has a bad script, and is just plain stupid.
Overall seems like Girl In Progress is a work in progress. Don't see this one. Just read the book instead.
