Critics Consensus:NBA 2K14

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the latest NBA 2K!

Every year theres a new Call Of Duty,Assassins Creed,FIFA,Madden,NHL,WWE, and NBA 2K. Every franchise starts to show it's wear and tear but NBA2K is infamous for being outstanding all the time. However will this finally be the year where NBA falls and is beaten by EA's upcoming NBA Live? Let's find out.
The reason why NBA2K is such a big franchise and infamous for it's quality pedigree each year is that this is the only sports franchise 2K owns. Aside from the dead Top Spin franchise and the newly released 2K Drive the NBA2K workers have no pressure except to make the best basketball game. And they do. With a 87 on Metacritic and critics all across the board calling it fun, improved and the best NBA2K yet. Now that's something.
Overall get this game if you like basketball.
NBA 2K14 is rated E.

One Of The Worst:Takedown: Red Sabre

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the new tactical shooter Takedown:Red Sabre!
It's sad because Takedown:Red Sabre had a really cool game and it had a really good showing at PAX. However this is sad because the game had so much potential at the showings it was presented at and looked like another blockbuster FPS for 505 (They already have Payday and Sniper Elite) Unfortunately a cool name does not make everything good. Let's see some of the examples Takedown:Red Sabre fails in every way.
  • AI is nearly non-existent (only reacts to certain weapons)
  • Single player will randomly crash because of multiplayer server issues
  • The game does not shut down on it's own and you have to close it on Task Manager.
  • No tactical options as the E3 Demos promised
  • No proper options menu for PC players
  • Shooting is clunky

Overall do not buy this game.
Takedown:Red Sabre is rated M.

Critics Consensus:Scribblenauts Unmasked

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the new Scribblenauts based off of DC!
Last years WiiU port of Scribblenauts Unlimited was the go to title for the WiiU as it showed it's processing power and it's insanely entertaining gameplay. Well the next Scribblenauts is now relying on Warner Bros's franchises. One of those is DC. Let's see how Unmasked fairs.
Unfortunately Unmasked is a little bit of a disappointment. While the game is still fun as it always is the combat is wonky as GameInformer stated and jumps feel really floaty. It's still a great game but Unlimited is better.
Overall if you were looking forward to this game you can go either way. Stick with Unlimited to save money or purchase the new one.
Scribblenauts Unmasked is rated E10+.

Critics Consensus:Rush

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the new Chris Hemsworth sports drama Rush!
Chris Hemsworth has not really shown is acting power in the past few years. The Avengers was not a movie really based off of performances (though it was a amazing nevertheless) Red Dawn flopped and Snow White was a low point for Hemsworth. However many fans of his films have been looking forward to Rush as it is his most serious role yet. Let's find out if his performance is worth while and also the movie.
Rush is a masterpiece, and thankfully it saves us from good movie drought we've been getting in the past few weeks. The acting is phenomenal from both leading roles as the Chicago Sun Times says and the movie carries immense emotional weight leading it to be heavily entertaining.
Overall see this movie.
Rush is rated R.

Critics Consensus:Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the sequel to Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs!
When Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs and Despicable Me came out in 2010 they were clearly respectable movies that showed how Sony Pictures Animation was trying to be the next PIXAR. 1. They can't because they have a generic name but whatever. Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs was a box office smash and with any movie close to that margin of money gets a sequel! How suprising.
Thankfully Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 is not the fly in the soup most critics and moviegoers expected it to be as it has a 58 on Metacritic as well on RottenTomatoes. It's not a fantastic movie by any means but it certainly is not going to leave a bad taste in your mouth. It's funny and certainly to give some laughs for the kids.
Overall only see this if you have kids.
Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 is rated PG.
