Critics Consensus:X-Men:Days Of Future Past

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new X-Men movie!!
X-Men has had a mostly good track record. The first two films were excellent and then a catastrophic mistake happened with the third. Unfortunately that wasn't the case with First Class and that's not the case apparently with Days Of Future Past. Why?
According to critics it's the best X-Men film in years.NPR praised the new cast such as Quicksilver while ReviewsOnTheRun praised the returning cast from old films. And the acting isn't just the sweet spot in this film,it's everything. The CGI,script and plot have been pretty much praised by everyone alike and this time 20th Century Fox really shows that X-Men were always on top of their class after all.
Overall see this movie.
Days Of Future Past is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus:Transcendence

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the all new Transcendence in which humans go against machines!
While Transcendence's plot may sound generic as a vat of boring it actually has some discernible talent attached to it like Christopher Nolan,Johnny Depp,Morgan Freeman and Rebecca Hall. However all of that is destroyed as the film has a 20% on RottenTomatoes and a 44 on Metacritic. Let's see why this is such a colossal disappointment.
Apparently it's because Transcendence has a lazy script, boring acting, and a otherwise bland lack in direction. It's got some amazing visual effects but even that can't save this sucker of a movie. Too bad for the 100+ million dollar budget of this movie because something like this is probably gonna hurt it. Another hit in Johnny Depp's wallet.
Overall do not see this movie.
Transcendence is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus:Thor:The Dark World

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the new Thor!
The past few Marvel movies have been great. Iron Man 3,Captain America, and especially the Avengers. However Thor is the one movie that was just "meh". Well now Thor The Dark World has come out and let's see how it is!
Thor:The Dark World is about the same quality and maybe even less than the first one. The action scenes are breathtaking and beautiful as The Atlantic said. However most critics who gave the movie a bad score said the plot was too convoluted and confusing and not good for the average Marvel new-comer. It's not just Earth being destroyed too, it's all six realms and it makes sense why some critics don't like this movie. Thor -is a disappointment not to a Marvel comic-book fan but for a regular person.
Overall only see this movie if you want to.
Thor:The Dark World is rated R.

Critics Consensus:Ender's Game

Hi! We are Critics Consensus.  We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the new Enders Game movie!
In 1985 author Orson Scott Card published Enders Game. The book was an amazing hit and spawned many sequels. Unfortunately a movie was never made due to problems with licensing and rights. Somehow it's now finally out. But is it the amazing movie we've been waiting for? Let's find out!
Sadly Enders Game is not the astonishing spectacle we've been hoping for with a 62% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 51 on Metacritic. It's more of a CGI spectacle with breathtaking set pieces but as critics have said it's not anything special. The writing falls flat in many ways and actors are poorly miscast with the exception of Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield as Time Out London and The Guardian have said. This is not the thriller you were hoping for. It's more of a popcorn muncher. But i'm sure if you turn your brain off you'll be fine.
Overall only see this movie if you want to.
Enders Game is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus:Beautiful Creatures

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is a Beautiful Creatures a new movie based off the hit book.
I have some friends who have read the book Beautiful Creatures. When they heard it was gonna be a movie they were wild with excitement. However when the trailer came out their expectations dropped like a pencil in chili. Luckily Beautiful Creatures is not horrible. It's actually the best movie of this week. But that's like saying that this turd doesn't smell as bad as the other one. (A Good Day To Die Hard you're a turd)
It's nicely cast as The Hollywood Reporter reported but the film itself is unentertaining and too long as critics such as Rolling Stone,WaffleMovies.com,New York Magazine and Christian Science Monitor said. So if you want to see this movie here's some good news. It's not as bad as Twilight.
Overall only see this movie if you want to.
Beautiful Creatures is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus: The Hobbit

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Peter Jackson's new movie!
Plot\Writing:
Before I start off on why the writing is good or bad in The Hobbit as explained by critics I just want to say this movie is a wild card. One of the biggest movies of the year it holds a 58 on Metacritic. :\ The Playlist praised that the film was emotional but Rotten Tomatoes Critics Consensus said that many critics thought it was slow paced. Uh oh.
Acting:
SourceFed's new movie thing show said that Andy Serkis's motion capture was the best acting in the movie and every performance was amazing and if a critic gave this movie a low score it was not about the acting.
Special Effects:
The Washington Post surprisingly called the film cheesy and other critics such as Globe And Mail said that the film's new fps (frames per second which is 42) looked horrible.
Overall:
Only see this movie if you want to. This will be a major disappointment to some people.
Trailer:
The Hobbit is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus: Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is the last Twilight movie.
The Twilight movies have been aggressively criticized for many reasons. Crappy story, bad acting, the list goes on and on. Thankfully it's over for good. Surprisingly this film is not getting bad reviews. Rotten Tomatoes said it was the most enjoyable movie in the series, and Rolling Stone agreed. The Hollywood Reporter gave it an 8.0 and said it would only be enjoyable for the appropriate demographic. 11-15 year old girls.
Overall only see this movie if you want to.
Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus: Cloud Atlas

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Cloud Atlas a new movie made by the directors of The Matrix.
Mixed Reviews Movie Moment Of The Month: Yes that was an alliteration but seriously this movie is getting really mixed reviews for example, Salon.com gave it a 10\10 saying that it was wildly entertaining and thrilling while L.A. Weekly gave it a 10\100 bellowing that it was boring and insipid. The Alantic explained that it was as emotionless as a Hallmark card while Giant Freaking Robot said that the good parts of the movie made up for the bad parts. The best thing about the movie whether you like it or not is the costume design. It is probably going to get an Oscar for that.
Overall only see this movie if you want to.
Cloud Atlas is rated R.

Critics Consensus:Frankenweenie

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Frankenweenie a new Tim Burton film.
If Tim Burtonb had a report card every year this year would be one of his lowest. Probably a D. That would have happened if Frankenweenie had not came out. Just like Para-Norman this kids romp will make kids and adults alike laugh as the Austin Chronicle said. Better yet Frankenweenie gorgeous to watch as the Washington Post stated,it is also heartwarming as The Advocate exclaimed and lastly was called one of Burton's best in years by The New York Post.
Overall if you have kids see Frankenweenie. Hell even see it if you do not have kids. It will make your day.
Frankenweenie is rated PG.

Critics Consensus: Looper

NOTE: This post will be more complicated then previous one's because this is a giant release for the movie industry. So why not have a giant post?
Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Looper a new sci-fi time travel movie.
Plot\Writing:
Tampa Bay Times praised the way Looper puzzle engages your brain with it's satisfying script. Christian Science Monitor loved the dialogue. The only problem with the plot is that it may mess with your brain cells as Ozus' World Movie Reviews stated but if it makes you think and be intrigued by the tension by the story-line it is worth it.
Acting:
The Hollywood Reporter praised the main stars in the movies acts such as Bruce Willis, Jospeh Gordon Levitt, and lastly Emily Blunt. Arizona Republic thought that Willis's perofrmance was better in Moonrise Kingdom but nevertheless and amazing performance. Lastly New York Daily News called Willis's performance on of his best. So Bruce Willis is definitely the best actor in this movie but the other actors performances are still amazing.
Special Effects\Cinematography:
Examiner.com praised the cinematography, but no other critics praised or even talked about the special effects as I looked so this will just be empty.
Overall:
Looper is a amazing movie and that's just about it. You should see it as much as you can. Looper is a complete masterpiece.
Trailer:
Looper is rated R.

Critics Consensus: Dredd 3D

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Dredd 3D a reboot of the 90's movie Judge Dredd.
Well there is good news and bad news about Dredd 3D. You will not dread Dredd 3D like the 90's adaptation Judge Dredd but the scenes with floating pieces of brain and intestine may make you want to puke and more specifically dread Dredd 3D as ReviewsOnTheRun stated in their video review. Entertianment Weekly praised the techno soundtrack, USA Today praised the special effects and visuals, and lastly Film School Rejects praised the slow motion cinematography. However, The A.V. Club gave it a negative review and was disgusted by it's ultra violent script (worse than The Human Centipede.) and The New York Post called it cheesy.
Overall only see this movie if you want to. You may want to bring a barf bag.

Dredd 3D is rated R.

Critics Consensus: Men In Black III

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Men In Black 3 the sequel to 2001's Men In Black 2.
Men In Black is one of those franchises that Hollywood turns to when they need a new movie specifically a blockbuster, now in 2012 Men In Black 3 is here after 9 years of waiting. Well the critics consensus for Men In Black III is meh. Entertianment Weekly,New York Times, Time Out New York, and USA Today loved the movie. They liked it because of good acting, funny jokes and it is actually fun to watch. Almost every critics specified in their review is that Josh Brolin's performance was amazing even if they hated the movie. An example of a critic who hated it was Time. They thought the movies scenes were trash and not in the correct order.
Overall if you liked the first Men In Black you may be a bit disappointed but believe me you will not waste your time. If you hated Men In Black II don't see this. Lastly if you have not seen any of the Men In Black movies this is an okay start. Just watch the first  Men In Black too. That movie is much better than this.

Men In Black 3 is rated PG-13.

Critics Consensus: Lockout

Hi! We are Critics Consensus. We post the regular critics opinion for video games and movies! Today it is Lockout a new action flick starring Guy Pearce.
Lockout is about a ex government agent who is assigned to rescue the government's daughter in a prison in space. Lockout hasn't been getting good reviews; and it's average score is a 4.5.
The good things about the movie are it's fun to watch but only fun if you forget that what is happening in the movie is super stupid. It also shows that Guy Pearce can be a reliable actor.
The bad things are the ending goes way to fast, is ridiculous, generic, and has annoying one liners.
So if you want to see Lockout really bad you can but don't remind yourself that the movie itself is crazy and stupid.
Lockout is rated PG-13.
